Dolby Laboratories
Dolby Audio
Vantage Gateway is Dolby’s preferred partner for the transcoding of adaptive bitrate content featuring Dolby source audio, including Dolby Digital (AC3), Dolby Digital Plus (EAC3) and Dolby Atmos. Through our API, we offer granular control of a broad array of Dolby capabilities, such as 7.1 support for AC3 and EAC3 audio outputs, and dialog and loudness normalization. The Dolby engine is available at no additional cost.
Dolby Vision
Cutting-edge Dolby Vision HDR technology dramatically expands the color palette and contrast range of video, using dynamic metadata to automatically optimize the picture for every screen. When compared to standard dynamic range (SDR) video images, Dolby Vision can deliver colors never before seen on a screen, with highlights that are up to 40 times brighter and blacks that are 10 times darker. We’ve worked closely with Dolby to ensure that you can deliver the highest quality video to the growing universe of Dolby Vision-supported devices.
Apple ProRes
Vantage Gateway is the only cloud vendor licensed by Apple to encode and decode Apple ProRes files using the 64-bit Linux Apple ProRes library, allowing ProRes users to take full advantage of powerful cloud media processing for the first time. We support all versions of the codec, from 422 up to 4444, including 4444 XQ with PQ and HLG HDR metadata. By integrating ProRes codec encoding into the Vantage Gateway 64-bit Linux-based platform, we provide unmatched flexibility for our cloud-encoding customers.
Nielsen Watermarking
Nielsen sets the standard for measuring television audience viewership. A Nielsen cross-platform VOD (CPVOD) watermark, inserted during the encoding process via the Vantage Gateway API, lets you track content views across connected TVs, smartphones, tablets and other devices for both broadcast and OTT playback. You can also convert existing Nielsen PCM audio watermarks to ID3 tags so that videos initially broadcast on television can be tracked on iOS devices, as well as extract non-audible watermarks and create ID3 tags with HLS content or static mp4 content prepared for Akamai segmentation.
Beamr Content-Adaptive Bitrate Encoding
Vantage Gateway users can now access content-adaptive bitrate encoding technology from industry leader Beamr to stream video with the highest possible picture quality and up to 50% fewer bits, resulting in smaller file sizes, more satisfied customers and lower CDN and storage expenditures. We enable the use of Beamr’s 5x HEVC and 4x AVC encoding engines, both of which help the encoder make smarter decisions based on the true visual quality of each video frame.
Interra Systems BATON
Interra Systems' BATON is the leading AI-enabled, automated QC platform for performing comprehensive quality and compliance checks on VOD content. The solution is fully integrated within the Vantage Gateway platform, enabling lightning fast QC validation as part of your processing workflow. BATON testing is available for close captions, audio-video sync, ABR streams and standards conformance, among others.
