Since Encoding.com’s inception we have been in a constant state of evolution. As our product has evolved we have grown well beyond our borders to support large media and entertainment enterprises around the globe. Supporting a worldwide customer base has put demands on our feature set of a truly global nature. Customers, especially in Asia-Pacific and Latin American regions, require multi-language support for their content as they are delivering to audiences across several languages. That’s why we just launched multi-channel support for additional audio tracks. We now support up to 8 stereo language tracks made up of 16 total channels.
They way we’ve implemented support for multi-language audio is pretty simple. First specify a stream ID that you’d like to apply the alternative audio tracks to. Then specify the language that the additional audio tracks are in using the appropriate ISO639-2 code. For more details on automating the implementation of multitrack audio in your video content, check out our API docs.
